Plum Krazy to Rock Sock Hop
The San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show will feature the Band "Plum Krazy" Saturday night during the Sock Hop in the Car Club Pavilion. Two car clubs, The Laf-A-Lots and Golden State Street Rods have teamed up to make the pavilion into a 60's drive-in and garage scene for the Sock Hop.
The Sock Hop is the first time the San Francisco event has featured the band "Plum Krazy" and hosted a 60's style, old - fashioned Sock Hop. Spectators are welcome to join in on the dancing fun and to come to the show dressed to dance the night away in their 1960's attire.
The band "Plum Krazy" has been playing together around the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998. Their music is the classics of Rock and Roll. The music will take you back to whenever you want to go or whatever memories these classics bring to mind.
The band is made up of some very talented musicians. Charles Marquez is on lead guitar and vocals. Charlie has been playing the guitar over 40 years and favors the songs of Eric Clapton and Santana. Edward Stucken plays the gutar and does vocals. Steadie Eddie, as he is known, has been playing guitar for over 30 years and his favorite songs are from Boz Scaggs and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Doing duty on the bass guitar and background vocals is Jeff Gessini and like the other members has over 40 years of playing to his credit. He lists his favorites as Rocco Prestia. Willie Weckes and Peter Cetera. The man who pounds out the beat on drums is Michael Miranda who is the youngest member of the group with 10 years of playing experience. Mike provides a strong steady backbeat for the band. His favorite bands are the Rolling Stones and Beatles.
Rick Perry, the promoter of the San Francisco event says" We are very excited to have the clubs put together the Sock Hop and hope the spectators really enjoy the classic Rock and Roll from 'Plum Krazy'".
The Sock Hop, Car Club display and "Plum Krazy" are part of the Budweiser Pavilions, which consists of the six lower buildings at the Cow Palace. The San Francisco Rod, Custom and Motorcycle Show uses all 9 buildings and over 300, 000 Sq., ft. of the facility to house over 500 entries for this years show.
